BRIEF HISTORY
Some of you may now me as Cris Mitchell the Graphic Designer and others as Cris Mitchell the Photographer and Publisher of ProPhotoResource.com and PhotographersHandbook.com but only a select few of you know that I have a history in the music industry that spans over twenty years as both a musician, engineer and producer.

Having spent the better portion of my childhood playing the guitar, I was introduced to the haunting sounds of the Native American Flute in 1991 shortly after I met a traditional flute maker who eventually took me under his wings, teaching me the ways of these sacred instruments, including how to carve them by hand.

4 years into the process of making and performing on these simple hand carved wind instruments, I decided the next step in my musical evolution was to enter the recording studio to create an album of Contemporary Native American flute music accompanied by Guitar, Piano and Keyboards, what emerged was the 1995 release ?Wind Journeys?.

During this time Wind Journeys took me all over the west coast playing, performing and selling Native American flutes. To date over 5,000 copies have been sold

Through the years I have re-connected with many of the original listeners of Wind Journeys and have been told amazing stories of how this music has touched their lives and the lives of the people they have shared it with.

The original recording of Wind Journeys has been played everywhere from birthing rooms to people leaving the physical world, it’s also been played by as many body workers and massage therapists as it has been retail stores and doctors offices. Wind Journeys crosses all boundaries and is truly a one of a kind production never to be repeated.

13 YEARS LATER
In December of 2008 13 years after the original recording of Wind Journeys, I re entered the studio to Re Mix and Re Master the original tracks as well as add two new original songs that have never been heard by the public before. Sonically it is better than the original, but still contains the same magic it did the day it was originally released.

Today I am happy to announce the Re-Release Wind Journeys as a digital download, in partnership with the Beverly Mullins Memorial Scholarship foundation. Together we are looking forward to giving back to a body of work that has given me so much in return.
